2015 project: read 52 books in 52 weeks

Welcome!

I'm glad you're here. This site is my life. It's got most of what I've done, everything I hope to do, and everything I'm trying to figure out. Consider this site a stage for my creative and professional endeavors, where everything about me and my work is candidly on display. Thank you for being my live audience!

Currently, I'm the marketing director for Text Request, Chattanooga-based tech startup revolutionizing the way businesses and consumers engage with each other. Every piece of content, every social media post, every email, every press release, every keyword, SEO, or website change goes through me, and in most cases is originated by me.

Before Text Request, I was in a sales role with a Fortune 100 financial services company, and with a $200m cutlery group before that. My formal education is in music and experimental psychology (BA). I have inbound and content marketing certifications from HubSpot and Vertical Measures.

I blog weekly. My good friend Will Malone (photographer/videographer) turned me onto the idea of 365 projects - doing one thing every day for a year. In 2015, I read 52 books in 52 weeks for my first 365. 2016's project was originally to publish 100,000 words, but I've already completed that.

Now I'm keeping in line with that goal by blogging weekly and trying to build a sustainable business (well, two counting Text Request). Freelancing and contributor writing also help me push the envelope, and continue to broaden my abilities.

Aside from my blog, I contribute most to Tech.Co. I also contribute to Thought Catalog, Lifehack, Elite Daily, and a smattering of other places. (Check my portfolio for more.)
